“The End of History” did not occur. In contrary to our wishful thinking twenty-first century did not bring a new Pax Romana. Events happening in recent years in the Middle East, Africa and Ukraine are the best example of this. It also shows us that the contemporary world is not a dreamed place.

 

The changes in political, military and social situation and the nature of these changes  question the previously developed international order and require a reorientation of thinking about security and safety.

As some scholars argue, our modernity is a kind of postcard from a trip into the unknown. We invite you to join us to create such a "postcard" which  reflects  humanity expedition into the unknown. Particularly we are keen to explore following issues:

 

• The safety of two speeds – globalism versus regionalism,

• information and modern technology – threats and security challenges,

• historical experience in building European security & safety,

• redefinition of security in the twenty-first century.

 

We invite you to debate, we hope to hear opinions of academics and practitioners: i.e. political scientists, historians, cultural theorists, sociologists, lawyers, economists, computer scientists, military forces servicemen and all those who are interested in contemporary security and safety challenges.
